Nashat Barhum

Age: 20

Residence: Ein Rafa

Occupation: Lifeguard

Family & Childhood: I have three married sisters and one married brother.

Politics & the “other side”: My family is originally from Tzoba which is now called Kibuts Tzoba. They had to immigrate with the other families during the war of 1948 to another location and created a new village now called Ein Rafa. I still visit the ruins of my home village Tzoba and I can see the remains of the old houses. Some of the old residents still have their old house keys. On many occasions I think how it would have been for me if I was living in my home village which is now replaced by an Israeli Kibutz. Feelings of homesickness always chase me whenever I look up to that mountain.
